What is Pega ABAC?

Pega ABAC (Attribute Based Access Control) is a model used to control user access to information in an enterprise system. It uses attributes associated with the user, the resource, and the environment in order to determine which users should be authorized or denied access to a resource. Pega ABAC also makes use of policies and rules to determine the level of access a user should have.

Pega ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) is a policy-based access control platform that allows organizations to securely and systematically manage user access to applications, data and devices. It provides features such as user-level policy authoring, policy evaluation and audit reporting. The platform is built on the Pega 7 platform and includes an integrated workflow execution engine that allows users to configure and deploy policies that span different applications and silos. Pega ABACs goal is to simplify the complex business process of managing and enforcing access control policies across a wide array of applications for different business roles throughout an enterprise.

Pega ABAC (Attribute-Based Access Control) is a method of governing access to enterprise data and applications that is based on attributes (or conditions) of the user, resource, and action. It provides granular, context-sensitive access control that can dynamically adapt to changing conditions. It can be used to ensure that users have only the access they need to perform their jobs, while also helping organizations comply with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.

Pega ABAC is an attribute-based access control (ABAC) system from Pega Systems. It provides a way to manage access to applications and services based on data attributes, user entitlements, business rules, and security logic. The solution captures and evaluates contextual information about a user request including attributes such as user identity, device type and location, to permit access. Access is initiated and managed through the Pega Platform, the core technology of the Pega product suite. With ABAC, organizations gain deeper insights into their user access behaviors, increased control over user-initiated access to applications, and the ability to create granular policies to maximize user access trust.
